Catalogue what you own
Add a book by title alone, or fill in authors, publisher, category, edition, page count and a cover. A book is a title, not a copy count — this is a library, not a warehouse.
Scan the barcode
Scan an ISBN barcode and BookDepo fills in the title, author, publisher and cover for you — add a book in seconds, with no typing. It looks the details up on Open Library and Google Books. No barcode? Type the ISBN, or enter everything by hand.
Wishlists for what you want
Keep lists of books to buy or plan to read. When one arrives, move it into your library in a tap — same book, new shelf.
Track loans
Lent a book to a friend? Record who has it and when it is due. A lent book still belongs to your library; you just know where it is. Full lending history stays with the book.
Shelves, tags and notes
Organise by shelves you name yourself, add free-form tags, rate books, and keep private reviews and notes — kept even while a book is on loan.
Find any book instantly
Search your whole library as you type — by title, author, publisher, category or tag. Results appear instantly, and accents are ignored, so “Bronte” still finds “Brontë”.
Backup and export
Full JSON backup you can restore later, plus CSV and HTML reports for printing or a quick look in a spreadsheet. Sharing is always started by you.

BookDepo keeps its whole catalogue in a database on your phone. There are no user accounts and no BookDepo servers. The only time it reaches the internet is to look up a book you are adding — and even then, only the ISBN or search terms you type are sent.
