Where your data lives

BookDepo stores everything — your books, shelves, wishlists, tags, ratings, notes, lending history and cover images — in a database and file storage on your own device. There is no BookDepo account and no BookDepo server holding a copy of your library. That means deleting your data is entirely in your hands and does not require a request to us.

Delete individual items in the app

You can edit or delete any book, shelf, wishlist, tag or note directly in the app at any time. Deleting an item removes it from your device’s database.

Delete all app data

You have two ways to remove everything the app has stored:

• Clear the app’s storage — in your device settings, open Apps → BookDepo → Storage → Clear storage / Clear data. This wipes the app’s local database and cached files while keeping the app installed.
• Uninstall the app — removing BookDepo deletes its local database and files from your device. On both Android and iOS, uninstalling an app removes the data it stored in its own app storage.

Backups and exported files

If you created backup or export files (JSON, CSV or HTML) and saved or shared them, those copies live wherever you sent them — not in the app. Delete them from that location separately if you no longer want them.

Data held by us

We do not hold any of your library data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. If you have contacted us by email, and you would like that correspondence removed, email us at support@book-depo.com and we will delete it.

Third-party lookup services

When you add a book, the app queries third-party services (Open Library and Google Books). Any records those providers keep of such requests are held by them, under their own policies, and are outside our control — we cannot delete data on their side.
